Job summary

Marlfield Residential and Nursing Care Home is seeking a General Assistant to support daily domestic, laundry, and kitchen tasks while forming meaningful connections with residents. No experience is required as full training is provided.

You will be part of a supportive team focused on safety, comfort, and wellbeing, with weekend/bank holiday work paid as per policy and access to a comprehensive benefits package.

  • Clean bedrooms, communal areas, toilets, and facilities to keep them welcoming.

  • Accompany residents: escort to appointments ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Build relationships: foster positive connections with residents, families, and staff.

Job description

Joining our supportive team at Marlfield residential and nursing care home as a General Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in the everyday running of our home. You’ll assist with domestic, laundry, and kitchen tasks, while building positive connections with our residents. Your dedication, compassion, and commitment to the highest standards will enhance the quality of life and wellbeing of our residents.

What you’ll do:
  • Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness in residents' bedrooms, communal areas, toilets, and facilities, to ensure they are clean and welcoming.
  • Assist with meals:Help serve meals and assist our residents with eating and drinking, clear/reset tables, stack dishwasher and keep dining areas tidy.
  • Laundry duties:Support with laundry tasks when needed, with full training provided.
  • Accompany residents:Escort residents to their appointments, making sure they feel comfortable and safe.
  • Build relationships: Establish positive connections with our residents, their families, and your colleagues, whilst sharing our commitment to creating an inclusive culture.
