Totally Local Company is hiring a General Assistant for Moorfield Primary School in Stockport on a fixed-term, part-time basis. The role is on-site in Moorfield Primary School, SK7 5HP, offering 12.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri 11:30–14:00) with DBS requirements and pro-rated holiday entitlement.

Salary: £13.28 per hour

Hours: 12.5 hours per week Mon - Fri 11:30am - 14:00pm

Working Weeks: 39.2 weeks per year plus holiday entitlement pro-rated over 12 months. - 6 months fixed term

DBS: All school based roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check. In line with the statutory guidance within "Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023". DBS results will be considered and risk assessed in partnership with the relevant school safeguarding lead.

Duties & Responsibilities

• To assist with the preparation of food.
• To assist with serving meals and collecting used crockery and cutlery at the end of the lunch period.
• To assist with the daily preparation of the dining room and counter.
• To undertake cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining areas, including the washing of kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery etc.
• To assist with the preparation of buffets and working lunches.
• To undertake such other duties related to the work of the department, appropriate to the post, as may be assigned.
• The post-holder may have the opportunity to assist with the preparation of food for special functions, such as P.T.A. events, parties etc., as required.
• The post-holder will be allotted a time scale in which these duties must be performed.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

• Basic food preparation and service of food.
• Working in a busy kitchen environment.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate – Level 1.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures / systems.
• Knowledge of food safety management systems.
• Creativity and presentation skills.
