Job summary

Sanctuary Scotland Housing Association Limited is seeking a General Cleaning Assistant for our retirement community at Hillyard House, London. The role involves keeping communal areas, offices, and kitchens clean to a high standard, with duties including stock monitoring and basic meal preparation while respecting residents’ privacy.

The position is part-time (25 hours/week) at £13.98 per hour, based in London SW9 0NH.

Qualifications

• Experience with general cleaning duties (desirable).
• Some experience in a domestic or catering environment.
• Level 2 diploma in housekeeping or catering, or willingness to work towards.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Basic understanding of health and safety in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Keep communal areas, offices, and kitchens clean and tidy.
• Complete all cleaning duties to a high standard.
• Report any faults or hazards to maintain a safe environment.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure equipment is used safely.

Your role
