Job summary

Baxterstorey in Manchester is seeking a friendly catering assistant to assist in breakfast and lunch preparation and serving, following established menus. You will help keep front of house clean and well stocked, work as part of a team, and support with stock checks and till operations.

• Ability to follow menus and recipes for breakfast and lunch preparation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation and serving of breakfast and lunch.
• Maintain cleanliness of front of house areas and replenish items.
• Collaborate with team, support stocktaking and pot-washing.
• Follow food handling procedures to prevent contamination.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages.
• Provide friendly, efficient service to staff during meals.
• Handle till and cashing up at shift end.
• Participate in training sessions on procedures and standards.
• Support team with additional tasks; experience in small kitchen is a plus.

Job description

• Assist in the meal preparation and serving of breakfast and lunch, according to established menus and recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness of the front of house areas including replenishing confectionary drinks, organising dishes and utensils for meal services.
• Collaborative working as a team supporting each other during meal preparation, weekly stocktaking and pot-washing.
• Following proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
• Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to staff during mealtimes
• Handle money, operating a till, cashing up at the end of the shift
• Participate in training sessions and meeting related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
• Additionally supporting the team with any other business requirements and tasks. Ideally have experience working in a small Kitchen.
• Have good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Flexible with a can-do attitude, customer focused.
