Introduction

The Customer Experience and Service Delivery team provides integrated facilities management services to ensure a comfortable, safe, and efficient environment for MPs, their staff, and House staff; as well as a welcoming and functional environment for visitors.


Catering Services, within this team, are responsible for the efficient operation of the House of Commons catering facilities, promoting a culture of high ethical standards and excellence in customer service.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused individual to join a busy coffee bar within the Parliamentary community. We aim to inspire our customers with great coffee, passion, energy, and teamwork to create memorable experiences.


We seek an enthusiastic individual to deliver the perfect cup of coffee, provide exceptional care, and offer a polished, professional service that exceeds customer expectations.

Responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring high standards of service and presentation at all times, regardless of trade volume.
  • Interacting with customers, assessing their needs, making recommendations, and upselling when appropriate.
  • Maintaining knowledge of products and specials, including allergen info, and advising customers accordingly.
  • Recording orders and payments accurately via the EPOS system, balancing cash registers, and following cash handling procedures.
Skills and Experience

To succeed, you should demonstrate:

  • Relevant café experience in a similar role, with a high standard of service in a high-volume, quality establishment.
  • Proven excellent customer service skills, with the ability to serve diverse customers effectively.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in a busy environment.
