Job summary

Orchard Therapeutics, a Kyowa Kirin company, is seeking a Research Technician for a 12-month fixed-term contract at the Hammersmith Research Facility in London. The role focuses on production of Lentiviral Vectors, molecular cloning, and supporting pre-clinical translational research within a collaborative team.

Candidates should have a background in cellular and molecular biology, with experience in Lentiviral vectors and lab documentation.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in a relevant biological discipline with at least 2 years of lab work involving viral vectors and molecular biology.
• Alternatively, >5 years of experience in Virology, Lentiviral Vector production and genetic engineering.

Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiology workflows for plasmid stocks and libraries.
• Perform routine cloning to generate plasmid and Lentiviral Vector constructs.
• Conduct cell culture and transfection workflows for Lentiviral Vector production.
• Determine titer and QC of viral particles using flow cytometry and ddPCR.
• Test and optimize production and QC protocols for viral particles.
• Organize and track samples during production and storage.
• Support lab operations, inventory management, and routine lab tasks.
• Contribute to study reports, SOPs, and team meetings.
