Job summary

PET-Xi is recruiting a dedicated GCSE teacher for the 16–19 Study Programme in Coventry. You will teach GCSE, support resits, and help learners who have not achieved their grade, guiding them towards progression.

You will assess accurately, provide targeted feedback, and run the exam cycle from entries to results day. A strong commitment to these learners is essential, with experience in GCSE subjects and QTS/QTLS required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS is required.
• A level or higher in the subject, or a degree with substantial subject content.
• Level 2 english and maths (or equivalent).
• Recognised assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, CAVA).
• Experience teaching GCSE in the relevant subject.

Responsibilities

• Teach GCSE, including resit groups across ability and attendance ranges.
• Diagnose where the subject broke down for each learner.
• Mark work, provide feedback, and keep progress visible.
• Run the exam cycle: entries, mocks, access arrangements, revision, results day.
• Intervene early to support learners near or below grade boundaries.
• Be a consistent adult presence alongside Youth Workers.
