Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Sunderland (SR5) is seeking a dedicated GCSE Tutor to provide high-quality one-to-one tuition. You will deliver personalised sessions during school hours, helping students prepare for GCSEs, catch up on learning, and build confidence.

Ideal candidates are qualified teachers or experienced tutors with strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a patient, adaptable approach. DBS Update Service or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring GCSE students.
• Strong subject knowledge in English, Maths, Science, or another GCSE subject.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, adaptable, and student-focused approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and personalised one-to-one GCSE tuition sessions.
• Plan and adapt lessons to meet each student's needs and goals.
• Support students in developing subject knowledge, confidence, and exam techniques.
• Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to maximise outcomes.
• Create a positive, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
