This is a permanent, part-time role working 29.5 hours per week (FTE 0.80) based at our Reading college Campus.
We are looking for an inspirational and committed individual who can act as a positive role model for our students, helping them develop not only the qualifications they need but also the personal and professional attributes required to succeed in the workplace. A genuine passion for supporting and developing young people is essential.
The successful candidate will hold a Level 4 qualification or above in English or a related subject and will have experience teaching GCSE English Language. Experience of working within creative and digital subject areas, or a background in these fields, would be advantageous.
Previous teaching experience within the Further Education sector and a recognised teaching qualification are desirable but not essential. If you have the relevant subject expertise, experience teaching GCSE English, and the ability to inspire learners, we can provide the training, development, and support needed to help you thrive in an FE teaching environment. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to deliver engaging, purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. Strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise effectively, and a collaborative approach to working within a supportive team are also essential. In return, you will benefit from a varied and rewarding role with excellent opportunities for professional and career development.
Here at Activate Learning, we recognise the importance of a good induction when joining a new organisation. Whether you are an experienced teacher or new to teaching, we provide all teaching staff with a comprehensive, mandatory, three-day induction programme, with an afternoon focused on sharing our approaches to teaching and assessment. This provides new employees with an understanding of Activate Learning's mission, values and Learning Philosophy led culture, ensuring you feel connected and supported from day one.
We see our employees as individuals, empowering them to make the right choices for their ambitions and careers. We value our people as vital to our continued success and aspire to a diverse, open and inclusive environment that provides the motivation for everyone to pursue their career goals and flourish.
