Job summary

Quantum Scholars is seeking a patient, knowledgeable Computer Science Tutor to provide personalised support to a young learner in Wokingham. The role focuses on building confidence, engagement and progress in CS, with experience in SEND/SEMH and GCSE preparation.

Qualifications

Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science.
Experience supporting secondary learners with SEND and/or SEMH.
Experience delivering one-to-one tuition or personalised educational support.
Confidence teaching Computer Science at GCSE level, or supporting GCSE candidates.
Knowledge of programming, algorithms and computational thinking.
Ability to adapt teaching to individual learning needs.
Experience supporting anxious or disengaged learners.
Enhanced DBS check and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

Deliver tailored, one-to-one Computer Science tuition.
Support knowledge and understanding across the CS curriculum.
Teach programming concepts, algorithms and computational thinking.
Cover topics such as computer systems, data representation, networks, cybersecurity.
Support GCSE CS content, revision and exam preparation where appropriate.
Identify gaps and develop targeted activities to support progress.
Adapt teaching methods and resources to learner needs.
Monitor progress and provide feedback to parents and professionals.
