Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking an experienced GCP Engineering Lead to head the Compute and VM team within its DCX platform. You will shape the platform roadmap, drive engineering best practices, and collaborate with architecture, security, and product teams.

This 12-month contract offers hybrid work across Bristol/Leeds/Halifax/Manchester/Edinburgh with two days on-site and exposure to large enterprise environments, Terraform, and GCP certifications.

Qualifications

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and strong knowledge of Compute Engine/VM environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
• Understanding of cloud networking and infrastructure services.
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.
• Experience working in large enterprise environments.
• GCP certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 30+ engineers.
• Drive the strategy and roadmap for GCP Compute and VM services.
• Support the design, delivery, and operation of cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Promote automation, standardisation, and engineering best practices.
• Work closely with architecture, security, and product teams.
• Ensure platform reliability, performance, and security.
