Job summary

Cornerstone Community Care in Banchory is seeking a Befriender/Personal Assistant to support an 8-year-old boy with ASN. The role focuses on building confidence, resilience and social skills through fun activities in the community.

The ideal candidate is caring, reliable and enthusiastic, with experience in ASN support, a good sense of humour, and a calm, patient approach. Training is provided; PVG is required; a driving link is beneficial.

Befriender/Personal Assistant

Banchory Area

£13.92 per hour

3 hours per week term time, 6 hours per week holiday time

A family is seeking a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic individual to provide befriending support for their 8-year-old son. The role will focus on helping him build confidence, resilience, and social skills within the community through fun and engaging activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with Additional Support Needs (ASN) and will be patient, kind, understanding, and able to adapt to his individual needs. A good sense of humour and a positive attitude are essential, as well as the ability to remain calm and not be easily offended.

We are looking for someone who is active, energetic, and keen to participate in a variety of activities. An interest in football and gaming would be a distinct advantage, as these are activities he particularly enjoys.

Wednesdays are preferred but days can be discussed at interview.

Consistency and reliability are paramount, and the successful candidate must be able to commit to a regular timetable

Training will be provided by the employer.

A driver with access to a car would be beneficial but not crucial

PVG will be required for successful applicant
