Job summary

Meridian Business Support seeks a Gauging Engineer to oversee measurement programs for automated equipment, including 3D structured light systems and CMM. You will design tooling, develop new automation, and justify capital investments on a large manufacturing site.

The role requires 5+ years in engineering, strong GD&T and tooling knowledge, and experience with Renishaw Modus CMM programming. A competitive salary and pension are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
• Five years’ experience in an engineering environment.
• Knowledge of 3D/DSL measurement equipment.
• CMM programming experience (Renishaw Modus).
• Experience in Aerofoil inspection.
• Experience trouble-shooting mechanical systems (pneumatics, tooling, measurement feedback).
• Knowledge of automation systems.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Good understanding of tooling and fixture design.

Responsibilities

• Create, verify and release measurement programs for automated measurement equipment including 3D systems (Zeiss Scanbox) & CMM.
• Design and deliver tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
• Develop and implement new advanced manufacturing equipment and automation.
• Support justification of capital funding requests.
• Cost reduction and process improvement of current manufacturing techniques.
• Create and maintain documentation including SOPs, EMSs, JSAs for production gauging and automated operations.
• Support NADCAP compliance for NADCAP controlled equipment.
• Mentor team members in CAD, GD&T & Automation.
• Identify and implement new manufacturing technology.
• Program storage, data backups and revision control for manufacturing equipment.
• Implement and support EH&S activities.

Gauging Engineer

The Opportunity:

What a fabulous opportunity for an experienced Engineer with experience of Gauging and Measurements or Calibration. The Gauge Engineer will provide technical expertise for manufacturing processes on this expansive, engineering site, focusing on measurement equipment for production gauging. The Manufacturing Engineer / Gauging Engineer will be to develop automated manufacturing processes whilst offering the team measurement expertise.

The Role:

• Create, verify and release measurement programs for automated measurement equipment including 3D structured light systems (Zeiss Scanbox) & CMM
• Design and deliver tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes
• Development and implementation of new advanced manufacturing equipment and automation
• Support justification of capital funding requests
• Cost reduction and process improvement of current manufacturing techniques.
• Creating and maintaining all documentation including SOPs, EMSs, JSAs for Production gauging and other Automated operations
• Support NADCAP compliance for NADCAP controlled manufacturing equipment
• Mentor other team members in CAD, GD&T & Automation
• Support identification and implementation of new manufacturing technology
• Responsible for program storage, data back-ups and revision control for Manufacturing equipment
• Implement and support EH&S activities

Preferred Skills:

Working Hours:

8.00am-4.00pm Monday to Friday

Associated Benefits:
