Job summary

Meridian Business Support is seeking an experienced Gauging Engineer to lead measurement programs for automated equipment, including 3D structured light systems and CMM, at a major manufacturing site.

You will design tooling, develop automation, justify capital funding, and drive cost reductions while maintaining documentation and EH&S compliance. Strong CAD/GD&T, and NADCAP experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
• Minimum of five years' experience in an engineering environment.
• Knowledge of 3DSL measurement equipment.
• Renishaw Modus CMM programming experience.
• Experience in Aerofoil inspection.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems (pneumatics, tooling, measurement feedback).
• Knowledge of automation systems.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Understanding tooling and fixture design.

Responsibilities

• Create, verify and release measurement programs for automated measurement equipment including 3D structured light systems and CMM.
• Design and deliver tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
• Develop and implement new advanced manufacturing equipment and automation.
• Support capital funding justification.
• Cost reduction and process improvement of current manufacturing techniques.
• Create and maintain SOPs, EMSs, and JSAs for production gauging and automated operations.
• Support NADCAP compliance for NADCAP controlled equipment.
• Mentor team members in CAD, GD&T and automation.
• Identify and implement new manufacturing technology.
• Responsible for program storage, data backups and revision control for equipment.
• Implement and support EH&S activities.

Gauging Engineer

The Opportunity:

What a fabulous opportunity for an experienced Engineer with experience of Gauging and Measurements or Calibration. The GaugeEngineer will provide technical expertise for manufacturing processes on this expansive, engineering site, focusing on measurement equipment for production gauging. The Manufacturing Engineer / Gauging Engineer will be to develop automated manufacturing processes whilst offering the team measurement expertise.

The Role:

• Create, verify and release measurement programs for automated measurement equipment including 3D structured light systems (Zeiss Scanbox) & CMM
• Design and deliver tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes
• Development and implementation of new advanced manufacturing equipment and automation
• Support justification of capital funding requests
• Cost reduction and process improvement of current manufacturing techniques.
• Creating and maintaining all documentation including SOPs, EMSs, JSAs for Production gauging and other Automated operations
• Support NADCAP compliance for NADCAP controlled manufacturing equipment
• Mentor other team members in CAD, GD&T & Automation
• Support identification and implementation of new manufacturing technology
• Responsible for program storage, data back-ups and revision control for Manufacturing equipment
• Implement and support EH&S activities

Preferred Skills:

• Minimum of a HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline

Working Hours:

8.00am-4.00pm Monday to Friday

Associated Benefits:
