Yolk Recruitment Ltd is supporting a leading aerospace manufacturing business in Exeter, recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer focused on production gauging and measurement systems. In this varied role you will help improve processes, introduce new equipment and support automation initiatives.

You will work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve manufacturing issues, develop tooling, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Engineering degree preferred for less experienced candidates.
• Strong understanding of drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support across manufacturing processes, focusing on production gauging.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Create and maintain measurement programmes for CMM and automated equipment.
• Design tooling and fixtures for production.
• Support introduction of new equipment and automation.
• Assist qualification of new products and processes.
• Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
• Maintain manufacturing documentation and procedures.
• Ensure quality, health and safety compliance.
• Mentor other engineering team members.

Manufacturing Engineer

Yolk Recruitment are supporting a leading aerospace manufacturing business in Exeter with the recruitment of a Manufacturing Engineer specialising in production gauging. This is a great opportunity to join an established engineering team in a varied role where you'll be involved in improving manufacturing processes, introducing new equipment and supporting the development of measurement and automation systems.

The role offers the opportunity to work across a range of manufacturing engineering projects, working closely with production and engineering teams to improve processes, solve manufacturing issues and introduce new ways of working.

The role would suit candidates currently working as a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, Manufacturing Development Engineer or Process Engineer who have experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support across manufacturing processes, with a focus on production gauging and measurement.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Create and maintain measurement programmes for CMM and automated measurement equipment.
• Design and support the development of tooling and fixtures.
• Support the introduction of new manufacturing equipment and automation.
• Support the qualification of new products and manufacturing processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation and procedures.
• Support quality, health and safety and compliance requirements.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Support and mentor other members of the engineering team where required.

This is what you'll need:

• Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Candidates with less experience may be considered if they hold a relevant Engineering degree.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with tooling and fixture design.
• Good IT skills and experience using CAD.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
