Job summary

Futura Design Ltd in Coventry seeks a Powertrain Integration Engineer (Gasoline) to join on a permanent basis. You will own gasoline powertrain integration across vehicle programmes, manage sign-off of systems, and collaborate with suppliers to meet targets.

The role requires strong experience in gasoline powertrain integration, DVPs/FMEAs, and DFMA awareness, with the ability to travel globally and support development and validation activities.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in gasoline powertrain integration and vehicle development.
• Experience developing major installed powertrain components or systems (cooling, air intake, exhaust, fuel, driveline, transmission).
• Good understanding of complete powertrain installation and interfaces with the vehicle.
• Knowledge of DVPs and FMEAs.
• Strong automotive test and validation knowledge.
• Structured problem-solving methods.
• Experience managing suppliers and addressing technical issues.
• Ability to challenge technical concerns with suppliers and teams where needed.
• Awareness of Design for Manufacture principles.
• Understanding engineering change processes.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of gasoline powertrain integration across assigned vehicle programmes.
• Manage integration and sign-off of powertrain systems to meet programme targets.
• Support specification, design, development and sign-off of installed powertrain components and systems.
• Define system requirements, interfaces, packaging constraints and integration targets.
• Lead interface with external engine and component suppliers.
• Support RFQ content and technical evaluation from a powertrain perspective.
• Support FMEA activities to mitigate risks.
• Develop Design Verification Plans (DVPs) and engineering validation docs.
• Support prototype builds and testing across development programme.
• Apply structured problem-solving to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Work with Manufacturing to implement feasible manufacturing solutions.
• Identify and manage technical risks and actions across the powertrain workstream.
