We are looking to recruit an engineer experienced in assessing the structural integrity of gas turbines to support growing demand for our services from clients in the aerospace and power industries. Primarily using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods, you will conduct strength, fatigue (low cycle and high cycle fatigue), creep and defect tolerance assessments of safety critical parts to help our clients develop new designs, solve their operational problems, and justify the life extension of existing assets. You will write bespoke software tools to assess components more quickly, or in more detail to remove conservatism.
Additionally, you will have opportunities to lead projects across the Frazer-Nash portfolio, supporting clients in defence, energy, and transport sectors. Our projects vary in duration and scope, and you will typically manage multiple projects simultaneously. Effective communication with clients to understand their needs and develop appropriate solutions is essential.
This is primarily a technical role, but it also offers cross-disciplinary collaboration within our consultancy. Strong interpersonal skills, decision-making, problem-solving, and initiative are important. You will report to your Group Leader, be responsible for your own work, and support team members and junior engineers. There are ample opportunities for professional growth and development.
Experience in a consultancy environment, business development, client relationships, and project management is advantageous but not essential. Candidates must undergo UK National Security Vetting clearance.
