Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Gas Turbine Mechanical Design Group Leader to drive innovation in turbine engineering. You will lead R&D projects, define activities, and allocate resources to ensure successful outcomes.

You will coordinate the technical work within your team, conduct reviews, and support concession activities while taking line management responsibilities and stepping in for the Group Manager as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in mechanical engineering with 10+ years in a technical role (gas turbine core preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Industrial or Aero products; compressor-rotor components experience is desirable.
• Proven track record leading R&D projects; understands design implementation processes.
• Experience in Root Cause Investigation, Decision Analysis, or FMEAs.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as sand casting, grinding, milling, and forging.

Responsibilities

• Define and allocate resources for R&D projects, collaborating with project managers on planning activities.
• Negotiate project deliverables and timelines for the Compressor Mechanical Design team.
• Coordinate technical efforts within the team to ensure all deliverables are met.
• Conduct technical reviews and approve drawings, design schemes, and technical reports.
• Provide expert-level technical support during non-conformance reviews and manage staff performance.
