Job summary

ExxonMobil in London is seeking an experienced Gas Trading Analyst to join the Global Trading Analytics team on the trading floor in our central London office. You will provide market expertise, fundamental analysis, and modelling to support trading, structuring and origination activities.

The role requires degree in a numeric field and proven experience in European Gas trading, forecasting, and data-driven decision making using tools like DataIKU, Python, Eikon and Bloomberg.

Qualifications

• Degree level in a numeric discipline (Engineering, Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics) or equivalent experience.
• Experience in European Gas Trading teams.
• Experience developing Gas price forecasts to inform trading strategies.
• Experience in Europe Gas fundamentals analysis & advanced analytical methods, incl. strong numerical, analytical and modelling skills; ability to work with data modelling and data pipelines using DataIKU and/or Python; familiarity with Eikon/Bloomberg and databases.
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with internal & external customers; creative problem solving; ability to work with multi-cultural global teams.

Responsibilities

• Leverage market understanding to recommend profitable trading, optimization, and business development strategies.
• Research, analyse and interpret fundamental drivers across European Gas space and translate into market views and forward price outlooks.
• Lead the development and improvement of analytical tools to enhance insights from market fundamentals.
• Support origination and business development teams expanding into new products and markets with analytical tools.
• Engage with internal and external developers and evaluate external tools for business application.
• Stay updated on leading-edge analytics techniques, technologies and tools.
