Job summary

Plymouth Community Homes is hiring a Gas Servicing & Breakdown Engineer on a 3-6 month fixed term basis in Plymouth. The role involves servicing, safety inspections, fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs across residents’ homes, with some evenings and weekend on-call work.

You will carry out gas safety inspections and ensure documentation is complete and compliant. Ideal candidates hold ACS qualifications (CCN1, CPA1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1 or equivalents) and have a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• ACS qualifications required: CCN1, CPA1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1 or recognised equivalents.
• Proven experience in gas servicing, breakdown or maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good knowledge of gas safety legislation and H&S requirements.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence; company van provided.

Responsibilities

• Carry out domestic landlord gas safety inspections and servicing.
• Diagnose and repair gas and heating system faults.
• Conduct inspections and identify corrective works.
• Complete certification and compliance documentation.
• Ensure all work complies with current gas regulations.
• Provide excellent customer experience on every visit.
• Collaborate with colleagues while managing workload.
