Job summary

Sureserve is seeking a forward-thinking leader to manage a team of field-based gas engineers in Portsmouth. The role focuses on operational efficiency, safety, and aligning with client expectations while maintaining strong internal and external relationships to support contract delivery.

You will drive performance, oversee profitability, and ensure compliance with Gas Safe regulations and housing association standards, while coaching managers and ensuring continuous improvement across contracts.

Qualifications

• Gas Safe registration and strong gas systems knowledge.
• Solid understanding of gas safety regulations and compliance.
• Experience managing gas servicing contracts and service delivery.
• Proven ability to engage clients, contractors and internal teams.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong commercial perspective with cost control and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver operational excellence and manage call-out rotas to ensure coverage.
• Oversee contract finances: cost management, invoicing, month-end processes by day 5.
• Monitor productivity and drive continuous improvement; implement improvement plans.
• Attend client meetings to strengthen relationships and explore growth opportunities.
• Lead and coach Contract Management and Supervisors with regular reviews.
• Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental management, stay updated on Gas Safe rules.
