Job summary

Avantor in Milton Keynes area is seeking a Gas Service Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of our gas storage and distribution facilities under a fixed-term contract. You will carry out routine inspections, basic troubleshooting and assist with maintenance activities.

The role requires hands-on technical experience with gas systems or related environments, strong safety awareness, good communication and teamwork, and a valid UK driving licence; full training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with gas systems, utilities, maintenance or a related technical environment.
• Basic health, safety and compliance knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation of gas storage and distribution systems.
• Carry out routine inspections and basic troubleshooting of gas equipment.
• Assist with maintenance activities and equipment checks.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and operational standards.
• Support audits, risk assessments and continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
