Job summary

Avantor, Inc. seeks a Gas Service Technician to support safe and efficient operation of gas storage and distribution facilities in the United Kingdom.

The role is a fixed-term contract with duties spanning system operation, inspections, maintenance, safety compliance, audits, and documentation. The ideal candidate will have gas systems experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams; driving licence and proficiency with Microsoft Office are

• Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications.
• Full UK driving licence.

The Opportunity: We are looking for a Gas Service Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of our gas storage and distribution facilities. Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (FTC)

Key Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation of gas storage and distribution systems.
• Carry out routine inspections and basic troubleshooting of gas equipment.
• Assist with maintenance activities and equipment checks.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and operational standards.
• Support audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with gas systems, utilities, maintenance, engineering, or a related technical environment.
• Basic understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• IOSH Working Safely or similar safety training.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, utilities, chemical, pharmaceutical, or energy environments.
• Knowledge of pressure systems or gas storage equipment.
