Job summary

Sanctuary in Ely is seeking a Gas Service Delivery Manager to lead a team of gas engineers across the East region. You will ensure compliant, efficient and customer-focused service delivery for domestic gas works, including servicing, repairs, installations and safety inspections.

Reporting to the East Gas Operations Manager, you will recruit, develop and manage field engineers, coordinate with planners and support functions, and maintain strong relationships with customers while upholding

Qualifications

• Must be qualified to CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1, Gas Auditing Qualification, HTR1, Unvented - G3 Certificate, WRAS or currently undertaking the qualification.
• Original certifications required at interview; copies not accepted.
• Experience leading a team of gas engineers and managing safety/compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of gas engineers across the East region delivering services, repairs and installations.
• Ensure compliant, efficient service delivery and customer-focused outcomes.
• Recruit, performance-manage and develop field-based engineers to meet contract specs.
• Provide technical support and drive process improvements with compliance in mind.
• Coordinate and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.

Job description

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am - 4.30pm

We have an opportunity for a Gas Service Delivery Manager, to join our team based in Ely. The Service Delivery Manager (SDM) will sit within the Gas Operations function and report directly to the East Gas Operations Manager. The role forms part of the East regional leadership team and works closely with Engineers, Gas Works Coordinators, Planners, Administration teams, Performance Managers, and the wider National Compliance and Operations teams.

The SDM is not a lone-working role and will be responsible for leading a team of directly employed Gas Engineers across the East region whilst working collaboratively with internal support functions to deliver compliant, efficient, and customer-focused services. The team is responsible for delivering domestic gas servicing, repairs, installations, safety inspections, compliance-related works, and supporting wider operational objectives across the region.

The role of Service Delivery Manager - Gas will include:

• Managing a team of gas engineers carrying out services, repairs and installations
• Manage the delivery of all works on behalf of Property Services to support performance delivery and compliance
• Ensure the effective service delivery of quality maintenance services to our customers from our field-based engineers, to ensure that the correct level of suitably trained and experienced resources are available / on-site
• Manage the recruitment, performance and development of quality field based engineers to ensure that the required skilled engineers are available to fulfil contract and service specifications
• Provide technical support to the field-based engineers and assist in improving business efficiency without compromising compliance
• Manage the coordination, communication and maintenance of relationships with internal and external customers

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1, Gas Auditing Qualification, HTR1, Unvented - G3 Certificate, Water Regulations (WRAS) or currently undertaking the qualification. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
• Previous experience managing a team of gas engineers
• Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety and building safety legislation
• Ability to use and update computerised systems (including PDA) for work scheduling
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
