Job summary

BOC Limited, a Linde company, is seeking a Gas Quality Engineer to perform performance evaluations on gas chromatographs and calibrate gas quality instrumentation on client sites across the UK, offshore and internationally.

You will analyse data to produce high-quality reports ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and prepare reference gas mixtures for performance evaluations. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• GCSEs and/or A-levels in Mathematics and Science.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively, including offshore and international assignments.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out performance evaluations on gas chromatographs and calibrations/validations of gas quality instrumentation on customer sites across the UK, offshore, and internationally.
• Analyse collected data to produce high-quality reports ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Prepare reference gas mixtures for performance evaluations and verify contents per accredited procedures.
• Assist and coordinate with Sales, Logistics and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery to customers.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure proper use of databases and documentation systems according to the quality system.

Job description

• You will carry out performance evaluations on gas chromatographs in line with the required accredited inspections of gas quality measurement systems, as well as calibrations and validations of other gas quality instrumentation on customers sites across the UK, offshore, and internationally
• In addition, you will analyse collected data and other information to produce high-quality reports that will give our customers confidence that their instrumentation complies with the required legislation and regulations
• As part of this role you will prepare reference gas mixtures for use with the performance evaluations, including transfer from parent cylinders to portable containers, and carry out verifications of the contents in line with the accredited technical procedures
• You will assist and coordinate with Sales, Logistics and other departments to ensure a seamless delivery of the service to the customers
• You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and ensure competent use of databases and documentation systems in accordance with the quality system and technical processes

What Makes You Great

• You have a strong academic background with good GCSEs and/or A-levels in Mathematics and Science
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients and colleagues and resolve issues and conflicts that may arise when working on customer sites
• In addition, you can work both independently and collaboratively, managing multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment
• Great organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly in planning site visits and maintaining accurate records
• Furthermore, you have a willingness, flexibility and ability to travel extensively, stay away from home, including offshore and international assignments
• Finally, for this role you are required to have a full UK driving licence
