Job summary

Catering in Newport, Wales, is seeking a Gas Engineer to join a large housing association's maintenance team. You will perform reactive heating/plumbing repairs, service boilers/fires, diagnose faults, and complete gas inspections across occupied and void properties in south-east Wales.

The role requires NVQ 2/3 or equivalent, CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1, CPA1, a UK driving licence, and strong problem-solving. It is a permanent position with progression opportunities and competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out reactive heating and plumbing repairs
• Servicing domestic boilers and fires
• Diagnosing faults and providing practical technical solutions
• Completing gas inspections, testing and associated works
• Recording completed works accurately using electronic systems
• Working across occupied and void domestic properties
• Supporting wider compliance and maintenance teams
• Participating in the out-of-hours call-out service when required
