Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Commercial Gas Engineer for a permanent role covering the Midlands up to the North, with commuting options from Sheffield and other cities. Salary is £42,000 - £45,000 plus a company vehicle, fuel card, training, and long-term stability.

You will perform gas metering works including removal, fitting, servicing and maintenance, plus surveys and exchanges, supported by a Technical Manager, with progression toward CMet2 if desired.

Qualifications

• Gas Safe registration with commercial gas metering exposure.
• CMet1 certification; CMet2 training available.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform commercial gas metering works: removal, fitting, servicing and maintenance.
• Conduct surveys, take measurements, and manage exchange projects with documentation/photos.
• Cover Midlands to Liverpool/ Newcastle with travel and occasional overnight stays.
• Receive initial training and on-the-job support from Technical Manager.
• Limited call-outs in-hours with no overnight rota.

Commercial Gas Engineer

Midlands to North (Commutable from: Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool)

Are you a Gas Engineer with CMet1 looking for a permanent role where you will be properly looked after, trained on specialist commercial gas metering work, and have a long-term pipeline of work across a stable client base?

This is a permanent position with a well-established specialist business providing commercial and industrial gas metering solutions, backed by a wider group with a significant customer base and clear plans to grow their metering rollout.

You will be trained on their job set-up systems, supported by a Technical Manager, and given the chance to broaden your skillset across a niche area of commercial gas metering, with the opportunity to work towards CMet2 if required.

In the role you will complete gas metering works including removal, fitting, servicing and maintenance of commercial meters, alongside surveys, measurements and exchange projects. You will operate across the Midlands up to the North, with restocking from Stevenage and a storage depot in Derby.

This role would suit a Gas Engineer with CMet1 and Gas Safe registration looking for a secure, long-term role with training, variety in work, and realistic call-out demands.

The Role:

• Commercial gas metering: removal, fitting, servicing and maintenance
• Surveys, measurements, exchanges and associated documentation/photos
• Covering Midlands up to Liverpool / Newcastle (travel with occasional overnight stays)
• Initial training/shadowing and on-the-job support from Technical Manager
• Handful of in-hours call outs per year (no overnight rota)

The Person:

• Gas Safe registered with commercial gas metering exposure
• CMet1 essential (CMet2 advantageous / can be trained into)
• Full UK driving licence and happy to travel
