Job summary

Axis CLC is seeking a skilled Gas Engineer to deliver servicing, breakdowns and repairs across our housing maintenance programmes. You will work in occupied homes, ensuring safety and high first-time fix rates while maintaining compliance with gas regulations.

You will hold CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1 and CKR1 qualifications, have a full UK driving licence, and be comfortable using a PDA for job management. We offer a competitive salary, van, fuel card and benefits, with opportunities for progression

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Domestic Gas Engineer within repairs, maintenance, or voids environments.
• CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1 and CKR1 qualifications are required (G3/Oil/LPG/ASHP desirable).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, especially in occupied homes.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and reactive gas repair works, diagnosing and resolving faults efficiently.
• Maintain a high first-time fix rate and ensure safety standards.
• Complete gas safety checks and compliance inspections per regulations.
• Support void property works ensuring gas systems are safe and ready for re-let.
• Carry out remedial works and system upgrades to maintain service standards.
• Accurately complete PDA/job documentation in a timely manner.

The Role

We’re looking for a skilled and customer-focused Gas Engineer to deliver high-quality servicing, breakdowns, and repairs across our housing maintenance programmes. This role offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to be part of a team delivering essential housing services that make a real difference to residents and communities.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and reactive gas repair works, diagnosing and resolving faults efficiently.

• Maintain a high first-time fix rate, ensuring quality and safety standards are consistently met.

• Complete gas safety checks and compliance inspections in line with current regulations.

• Support void property works, ensuring all gas systems are safe, compliant, and ready for re-let.

• Carry out remedial works and system upgrades where required to maintain service standards.

• Accurately complete PDA/job documentation, ensuring all works are recorded correctly and in a timely manner.

About You

• Proven experience as a Domestic Gas Engineer within repairs, maintenance, or voids environments.

• Relevant qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 (G3 and LPG/Oil/ASHP desirable).

• Strong customer service and communication skills, able to work sensitively in occupied homes.

• Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and manage time effectively.

• Confident using handheld devices (PDA) for job management and reporting.

• Full, clean UK driving licence (we will accept minor motoring convictions).
