Job summary

Clarke Energy in Scotland is seeking a Field Service Engineer to maintain and fault-diagnose gas engines and associated plant across the Central Belt. You will deliver scheduled servicing, diagnose faults, and provide timely, cost‑effective repairs to maximise reliability for customers.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years as a service engineer, Gas Safe registration, and driving licence, with willingness to travel across Scotland and work unsociable hours.

Qualifications

• Essential: 5+ years as service engineer; NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; apprentice-trained; Gas Safe registration; full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel across Scotland and work unsociable hours.
• Desirable: previous experience with gas engines.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and fault diagnosis of gas engines and plant equipment across Scotland.
• Deliver scheduled servicing to high standards and minimise downtime.
• Provide timely repairs and cost-efficient solutions for customers.
• Maintain van stock and report shortages to the Area Manager.
• Mentor apprentices and new team members.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental regulations are followed.
