Job summary

Cotton Traders is recruiting a Garment Technologist to join our Technology team. You will ensure ladies’ products meet sizing, quality and performance specs and provide consistent fit for customers. You will contribute to driving our ranges with energy and focus.

The role involves managing the department, creating graded size specifications, handling samples, and collaborating with Buyers and suppliers to achieve the best results.

Qualifications

• Work experience in the industry and at least three to five years’ experience within a Garment Technology role.
• Experience working with pattern cutting would be an advantage on both men’s and ladies’ blocks.
• Enthusiasm and determination, with a passion for Garment Technology
• Team spirit and a positive attitude
• Confidence in communicating, in order to maintain a strong working relationship with all departments and suppliers.
• A Self-Starter approach to the role with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Coral Draw/Adobe illustrator skills (desirable but not essential)

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day running of the department
• Creating fully graded size specifications and garment sketches of products including key details
• Manage the intake of samples and prepare samples for the fit meetings.
• Fitting on live models with the Buyers, providing concise fit and quality amendment comments to the suppliers
• Live fitting on female models.
• Managing all products through the sealing process from initial fit to production and postproduction.
• Specifying care label information and all packaging details
• Instigating/analysing test reports with recommendations
• Regular liaison with our Distribution Centre Quality Control team
• Continually analysing returns information on products, especially by colour, making suggestions for improvements to fit, quality.
• Supporting Customer Services and Stores with any technical queries

What’s in the role and what are we looking for?

We are recruiting for a Garment Technologist to join our Technology team.
