Job summary

KEITS Training Services Ltd is offering a Gardener Assistant Apprenticeship opportunity. You will join a friendly team, performing basic garden tasks and training towards a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship.

On completion, there is a strong chance of a full-time role for the right candidate. Training is provided by the employer and KEITS with a focus on practical outdoor skills and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Some knowledge and interest in gardening.
• Willing to learn and develop gardening skills.
• Active and fast moving in a busy outdoor environment.
• Applicants must not already hold a Level 2 or above in horticulture.
• Full employer-provided training toward Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship, EPA, and safety qualifications.

Job description

Colin Vass Gardeners are a garden maintainenance business who service gardens thoughout the year.

This is a fantastic opportunity to jpin our fun and supportive team as a Gardener assistant apprentice.

Duties will include but not limited to;

• Weeding
• Grasscutting

Opportinity to get fully trained in garden maintanance allowing experience for a long career in the industry

Desired Qualifications

• Applicants must not already hold a level 2 or above in horticulture

Future Progression

• On completion of the apprenticeship, there is a high chance of a full time role for the right candidate.

Training

• Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
• The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship
• The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
• The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
• You will also need to achieve Level 3 award in Emergency First Aid at Work and Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance or Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides before undertaking the End Point Assessment.

• The apprentice will be working to build a portfolio of evidence and will be required to pass a knowledge test and an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete the apprenticeship.
