Job summary

Hillier Garden Centre Hampton-in-Arden is seeking a committed Cook to join our team and support delivery of high-quality food and service. You will prepare dishes to Hillier specification, uphold food safety, and work with front-of-house colleagues to ensure a seamless dining experience.

This is a full-time fixed-term role of 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis including weekends, with a salary up to £13.89 per hour. The fixed-term contract covers maternity leave until 1 September 2027.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a cook or in a similar food prep role.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Able to work under pressure during busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Uphold Hillier’s standards of service and customer engagement.
• Prepare and cook dishes to Hillier specifications with timely service.
• Follow company hygiene policies and complete compliance checks.
• Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, prep, cleaning and maintenance.
• Manage stock rotation, inventory and supplier coordination when needed.
• Train and support junior kitchen staff as required.
