Job summary

Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd in Eastleigh is seeking a proactive Ganger to lead a small civils crew delivering essential drainage works. You will supervise excavations, manhole rebuilds, repairs and installations, ensuring work is safe, efficient and to a high standard.

You will conduct daily risk assessments, coordinate site operations, manage plant and materials, and keep accurate records while ensuring correct use of vehicles and equipment.

Qualifications

• Groundworks or utilities experience in civils environment.
• Familiarity with industry tools, plant and machinery.
• Understanding of health & safety and safe site practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily risk assessments on site.
• Coordinate site operations and supervise crew.
• Oversee plant and materials requests and ensure safe use of vehicles/equipment.

Are you ready to take the next step in your civils career? We're looking for a proactive and safety-focused Ganger to lead a small team delivering essential civils work across the drainage network. In this role, you will take ownership of daily site activities carrying out excavations, manhole rebuilds, repairs, and installations, while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will be responsible for conducting daily risk assessments, coordinating site operations, overseeing plant and materials requests, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring vehicles and equipment are used correctly and safely. This is a hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same and where your skills will make a real impact.

You will be predominantly based at our sites in Eastleigh.

Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd is a special purpose joint venture established to deliver wastewater network maintenance and repair services for Southern Water across the South of England. We focus on keeping sewer networks operating efficiently through planned maintenance, emergency response and rehabilitation works. What We're Looking For

Experience & Knowledge

• Groundworks or utilities experience in a civils environment


• Familiarity with industry tools, plant and machinery


• Understanding of health & safety and safe site practices

• Ability to follow instructions and make sound, safe decisions on site


• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently


• Physically capable of undertaking manual tasks

Qualifications

• Full clean driving licence


• NRSWA (Streetworks)


• Cat & Genny training


• Relevant qualifications such as CSCS card (and SSSTS/SMSTS desirable)
