Job summary

Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd (CBUL) is seeking a Driver Assistant to support wastewater network cleaning and maintenance activities alongside a Heavy Jetting Operative. This role involves setting up safe work areas, handling hoses and equipment, and assisting with street works and traffic management.

You will help with inspections, vehicle and tool maintenance, documentation, and responding to planned and reactive works.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Experience in drainage/utilities/construction or outdoor environments is desirable.
• Strong work ethic, positive can-do attitude, and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather.
• Safety-focused and able to follow procedures.

• Support Heavy Jetting Operative in wastewater network cleaning and maintenance.

We're looking for a motivated Driver Assistant to support the delivery of wastewater network cleaning and maintenance activities. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing a job well, and is looking to develop their skills within a growing utilities environment.

As a Driver Assistant, you will work alongside a Heavy Jetting Operative to support the cleaning and maintenance of wastewater sewer networks using high-pressure water jetting equipment. The role involves helping to set up safe work areas, handling equipment and hoses, assisting with street works and traffic management activities, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will also support routine equipment inspections, maintain vehicles and tools, complete job documentation, and help respond to planned and reactive works. This is a varied, physically active role that offers the opportunity to gain valuable industry skills while contributing to essential infrastructure services.

Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd is a special purpose joint venture established to deliver wastewater network maintenance and repair services for Southern Water across the South of England. We focus on keeping sewer networks operating efficiently through planned maintenance, emergency response and rehabilitation works. Our capability is underpinned by a substantial fleet of specialist vehicles including vacuum tankers, jetting units and CCTV survey equipment, supported by advanced technology for rapid diagnostics and effective solutions. With a reputation for safety, reliability and technical expertise, Cappagh Browne plays a critical role in protecting communities and maintaining essential infrastructure.

What We're Looking For:

• Full UK Driving Licence.


• Experience within drainage, utilities, construction, or other practical outdoor environments is desirable

• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.


• Safety-focused approach with a commitment to following procedures and maintaining high standards.

Industry certifications such as High Pressure Water Jetting, Confined Space Entry, NRSWA, CSCS, First Aid, or Banksman/Vehicle Marshal are advantageous but not essential.
