Job summary

Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd is seeking a Civils General Operative to support civils and drainage projects across the South of England. You will assist excavation activities, utility location and avoidance, site preparation, and reinstatement work as part of a hands‑on team focused on high quality workmanship.

A valid NRSWA Street Works qualification is essential for this role. Full UK driving licence and CAT & Genny qualification are desirable, and you will work outdoors in a team environment

Qualifications

• Experience in civils, utilities, groundwork, construction or similar environments.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely.
• Strong awareness of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.

Working alongside Team Leaders and operational crews, you will assist with excavation activities, utility location and avoidance, site preparation, plant and equipment operation (where authorised), reinstatement works, and general construction duties. You will help maintain safe, organised, and compliant work sites while ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. This is an important position that contributes to the smooth running of operations and the successful completion of projects for our customers.
