Job description

We have an opportunity at our prestigious Manchester Gallery to join the team as a Gallery Technician. We’re seeking a proactive individual with excellent organisational skills to help maintain our high standards and support gallery operations. You’ll be responsible for setting up new artist releases, gallery events, and exhibitions throughout the year, as well as supporting the gallery team during peak times. This is a full-time role, working 5 days out of 7 (Sunday to Thursday), based in Manchester. Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the stockroom efficiently, ensuring all artwork is clearly labelled, accessible, and easy to find.
  2. Ensure artwork is handled carefully to minimise damage through correct wrapping and storage.
  3. Process gallery deliveries correctly, following stockroom procedures.
  4. Support the gallery team with re-hanging artwork, including printing and displaying price tags and artist biographies.
  5. Assist in organising and running artist appearances, gallery events, and exhibitions.
  6. Provide after-sales follow-up with clients and feedback on client satisfaction.
  7. Perform physical duties as required on a daily basis.

Requirements:
  1. Highly organised and efficient in managing multiple tasks.
  2. Confident, well-presented, with excellent customer service skills.
  3. Strong communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
  4. Keen attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  5. Motivated to achieve targets, including sales targets when necessary.
  6. Driving license is essential for potential client visits.
