Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority Culham, Oxfordshire, is seeking an Integrated Modeller and Scenario Developer to exploit the JINTRAC core-SOL-divertor coupled transport code and its modules to understand tokamak transport and confinement, validate new physics models, and perform cross-code benchmarks.

You will contribute to advancing core/edge transport codes and collaborate with code developers to implement advanced tokamak physics.

Qualifications

  • PhD (or equivalent) in plasma physics.
  • Experience running plasma integrated simulation codes.
  • Experience developing scientific codes for computational physics.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to research carried out through international collaborations and work packages.
  • Deliver high-quality research and software outputs aligned with UKAEA priorities and disseminate in journals.
  • Guide students and early career researchers in integrated modelling.
