Position: Furniture Repair Technician
This role is based in Taunton, MA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of upholstery and furniture repairs, including burns-ins, wood repairs, and finishing.
- Perform repairs to ensure quality for next-day home deliveries.
- Match colors on surfaces and apply sealers and top coats properly.
- Polish finishes according to vendor specifications.
- Address scratches, burns, and other damages, restoring furniture to standards (e.g., wood repair, touch-up, burn-in, fill sticks).
- Use spray guns for finish applications and perform minor to complex repairs.
- Paint and match colors for wood products using lacquers for various gloss levels.
- Organize and maintain shop tools and repair supplies.
- Work safely and professionally, including assembling/deluxing furniture and staging for delivery as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in furniture assembly or related craftsmanship.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Preferred Qualities:
- Experience with painting, wood repair, and craftsmanship skills.
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently and in teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and learn quickly.
- Availability for full-time work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Furniture repair skills assessment may be part of the interview process.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift/move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable walking and standing for most of the day.
