Job summary

Alfred H Knight is seeking a Furnace Technician to join our Laboratory department in Lea Green, St Helens. You will ensure compliance with ISO 17025, ISO 14001, and CLAW regulations while applying high precision to all daily testing and fire assay duties.

This on-site role in Lea Green offers a pathway to develop skills in furnace operations, equipment maintenance, and safety, within a collaborative environment that values accuracy and quality.

WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Furnace Technician to join our team in Lea Green, St Helens.

We’re looking for a highly attentive and proactive individual to become a part of our Laboratory department. You will ensure compliance with ISO 17025, ISO 14001, and CLAW regulations while applying high precision to all daily testing and fire assay duties. You’ll be responsible for prioritizing furnace workflows, maintaining equipment, and keeping the lab safe and organized.

Acting as a key communicator across the shift, you will work closely with supervisors to report issues, complete tailored training, participate in PDRs, and drive a collaborative, high-standard working environment.

Required Work Experience

• Experience in a commercial analytical laboratory environment / commercial furnace room environment would be desirable but not essential.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of GCSE or equivalent education.
