Job summary

Alfred H Knight in Prescot, Liverpool, is looking for an XRF Laboratory Technician to join our team. You will perform analytical testing and laboratory procedures with high accuracy, organizing daily workloads and ensuring samples are handled correctly to meet reporting deadlines.

As part of the XRF team, you will keep equipment and work areas clean and safe, maintain traceable records in line with ISO 17025, and contribute to a compliant, quality-focused laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an organised, structured way whilst adapting to changing business needs.
• Able to meet given deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.

WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an XRF Laboratory Technician to join our team at our head office in Prescot, Liverpool.

You will be responsible for carrying out analytical testing and laboratory procedures with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Working as part of the XRF team, you will help organise and process daily workloads, ensuring samples are handled correctly and analytical work is completed to the required standards and within agreed reporting deadlines.

You will also ensure laboratory equipment and work areas are kept clean, safe and in good working conditions, while maintaining accurate and traceable records in line with ISO 17025 requirements.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Required Competencies

• Ability to work in an organised and structured way, whilst maintaining flexibility to the changing and demanding needs of the business.

• Strong team player with a collaborative approach and work ethic.
• Able to demonstrate a high degree of manual dexterity and can regularly carry loads of up to 15kg without issues.

• Be able to communicate effectively in a range of different formats.

Required Work Experience

• Previous experience in a laboratory environment is preferred.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum GCSE equivalent education.
