CPJ Field is seeking a dedicated Funeral Service Team Member (Chauffeur/Bearer) in Aylesbury. This full-time position involves attending funerals, driving vehicles, and supporting bereaved families during difficult times.

The successful candidate will work closely with Funeral Directors, maintaining a respectful environment, and ensuring the highest standards of service. This role includes additional on-call responsibilities and requires a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• Previous relevant experience preferred but not essential.
• Must hold a valid driving licence.
• Happy to work flexibly in a small team.
• Prepared to work with a smart appearance, with no visible tattoos or piercings.
• Available on a 24-hour call-out system in accordance with local rota agreements.

Responsibilities

• Attend funerals, drive vehicles, and bear coffins on the shoulder.
• Remove the deceased from their place of death to our premises in a dignified manner.
• Check and maintain the mortuary register.
• Collect and prepare coffins prior to funerals.
• Prepare the deceased for presentation in the Chapel of Rest.
• Prepare graves and plots for ashes interments.
• Keep the premises of CPJ Field clean and tidy.
