Job summary

Dignity Funerals Limited is seeking a compassionate Funeral Operations Team Leader (FSO Level 3) to oversee diary coordination, mentor Funeral Service Operatives, and support care teams across branches. This physically active role requires empathy, reliability, and a calm presence while ensuring respectful, dignified ceremonies.

You will work closely with the Funeral Director, manage rosters and training, participate in on-call duties (including nights and weekends), and help deliver seamless

Qualifications

• No previous funeral experience required; management/supervisory experience essential.
• Full training provided in line with Dignity's program.
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).

Responsibilities

• Support Care Centre Manager/Service Delivery Lead and lead diary coordination.
• Oversee training/mentoring of Level 1 and Level 2 Funeral Service Operatives.
• Conduct regular 1:1s and team meetings; support Funeral Director within branch.
• Participate in out-of-hours on-call rota (nights/weekends) for families.
• Complete garage orders to support operational efficiency and service delivery.
• Support the Funeral Director in delivering seamless service and ceremonial work.
• Manage rotas and staffing to control costs and overtime usage.
• Prepare the deceased (washing, dressing, presentation) per family wishes.
