Job Description:

Rutherford has been mandated by a leading investment management firm to recruit a Paralegal for a 12-month maternity cover, based in their UK office. This position offers the chance to work within a dynamic UK/European Legal and Compliance Team, supporting a broad range of legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee fund registrations and renewals primarily across Europe, including compliance with UCITS and AIFMD passporting requirements.
• Support the Client Relations team by clarifying marketing requirements for funds and investment products outside the US.
• Conduct AML/KYC procedures during client onboarding and ongoing reviews.
• Assist with contract review processes, covering outsourcing, services, and client agreements.
• Facilitate Board and Committee governance for subsidiaries in the UK and Netherlands, including organising meetings, preparing agendas and documents, and drafting minutes.
• Collaborate with the Managing Director, Risk & Compliance, to evaluate regulatory impacts relevant to UK and European offices.
• Manage powers-of-attorney arrangements, including notarisation and translations, acting as a key contact for third-party providers.
• Provide general legal and compliance support on various projects as required.

Background:

• 3 - 5 years’ experience within the investment management sector.
• Strong understanding of UK and EU fund marketing and regulatory frameworks is preferred.
• Familiarity with MiFID II regulations.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritise multiple tasks efficiently.
• Confident communicator able to liaise effectively at all organisational levels.
