Fundraising Manager Salary: starting from £36,853 to £39,669 depending on experience (0.8 FTE considered). This is a permanent, home-based role with regular travel. About Voice 21: Speaking and listening skills underpin our success in school, work, and throughout our lives.
Developing young people’s oracy skills equips them with essential tools to navigate education, pursue careers, and reach their potential. Like reading, writing, and maths, oracy is a foundational skill that prepares young people to thrive in society.
Despite evidence that high-quality oracy education boosts confidence, wellbeing, engagement, progress, and attainment, it is not universally integrated into school curricula. This disparity disadvantages children from low-income backgrounds, who often start school without vital oracy skills.
Voice 21 is the national oracy education charity dedicated to enabling economically disadvantaged pupils in the UK to develop these skills. We focus on empowering teachers and schools to embed high-quality oracy education daily, especially in schools with high free school meal eligibility.
Since 2015, we have grown rapidly to become the UK's trusted experts in oracy education, training teachers, promoting excellence, setting standards, and influencing policy. Our mission is to ensure every child has access to high-quality oracy education.
To support this, we deliver our flagship Oracy Schools programme, share our knowledge, contribute to the evidence base, and advocate for policy change. About this opportunity: We seek a talented Fundraising Manager to help us diversify and grow our voluntary funding sources as part of our ambitious next five-year strategy.
Your role will support senior leadership to develop new funding streams across trusts, foundations, corporate, and philanthropic sectors. You will identify prospects, craft compelling proposals, and build relationships with funders. You will also lead on reporting impact and contribute ideas for supporter engagement. The role offers growth opportunities, managing your own donor portfolio, with a target to secure £500K of new income in 2027.
Key responsibilities include developing a pipeline of prospects, drafting funding bids, managing relationships, overseeing reporting cycles, and maintaining data in Salesforce. Essential skills: Proven high-value fundraising experience, excellent communication, relationship-building, and initiative. A passion for reducing educational inequalities and transforming learning for disadvantaged young people is vital.
This is a home-based role with regular travel to London and project sites, with expenses covered. It is a permanent position, following a three-month probation. Why work for Voice 21? Join a mission-driven team tackling vital educational challenges, with flexible working, professional development, and attractive benefits, including 36 days holiday, pension, and more.
Application process: Submit a CV and cover letter (max two pages) by email to [emailprotected], with the subject 'Fundraising Manager'. The closing date is 9am on Monday 23rd June. Interviews will be held virtually in early July, with potential for a presentation at the second stage. For questions, contact Deborah Benson at [emailprotected]. We value diversity and encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply, considering our salary range as part of our inclusive approach.
