Job summary

Common Purpose is seeking a proactive Fundraising Lead to grow and diversify income. You will identify opportunities, build relationships with funders and write compelling applications to trusts and foundations, including statutory funding bodies.

There is scope for UK-wide travel and a flexible, remote-first working arrangement. You will help develop partnerships and funding strategies, collaborating with leadership to secure income and demonstrate impact for supported programmes.

Qualifications

• Fundraising experience: researching, developing and submitting funding applications.
• Excellent writing: clear, persuasive applications and case for support.
• Initiative: sourcing funders and building a proactive pipeline.
• Relationship-building: engaging with funders and developing productive relationships.
• Commercial awareness: assessing opportunities and prioritising high-potential activities.
• Strong organisation: managing multiple applications, deadlines and reporting.
• Analytical skills: tracking opportunities, budgets and funding streams.
• Collaborative approach: coordinating with colleagues to develop funding propositions.

Responsibilities

• Find funding opportunities by researching trusts, foundations, statutory funding and other sources.
• Write compelling funding applications and manage deadlines.
• Build and manage the funding pipeline and prioritise opportunities by value and likelihood of success.
• Develop relationships with funders and explore multi-year awards.
• Communicate impact by gathering evidence and crafting persuasive funding propositions.
• Manage funding and reporting, ensuring targets and deadlines are met.
• Explore new income streams including corporate partnerships and philanthropic giving.
• Coordinate with colleagues to align fundraising with organisational priorities.
