Job summary

Wilde Consultants in Stockport is offering an Apprentice Accountant training programme with a clear pathway to Finance Manager. You will gain practical accounting experience while studying with Kaplan Financial Limited on an Assistant Accountant (level 3) apprenticeship.

The role includes handling invoices, payroll support, month-end tasks, VAT, and financial reporting, with mentorship and funded qualifications. Starts Jan 2027, 38h/week, 1 year 3 months, in-office at Stockport.

Qualifications

• Essential qualifications: English grade 4/C; Maths grade 4/C.

Responsibilities

• Processing purchase invoices and supplier payments.
• Assisting with sales invoicing activities.
• Supporting credit control processes.
• Processing employee expenses.
• Maintaining accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Supporting payroll administration activities.
• Performing bank reconciliations.
• Assisting with month-end accounting procedures.
• Supporting VAT return preparation.
• Assisting with financial reporting.
• Supporting management information production.
• Assisting with cashflow reporting.
• Supporting project profitability reporting.
• Assisting with Work in Progress (WIP) monitoring.
• Supporting budget monitoring activities.
• Assisting with management accounts preparation.
• Supporting financial analysis activities.
• Provide administrative support to the Finance Team and wider business as required.
• Assist with document management and record keeping.
• Provide support during periods of staff absence or peak workload.
• Assist with general office administration activities from time to time.
• Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the office environment.
