Opportunity Overview
A terrific opportunity to join a successful fund manager to lead a small team, responsible for their most successful fund. The company is based in central London and offers the successful candidate a hybrid work option of three days in the office.
Candidate Profile
You will be a very experienced accountant with fund accounting/controlling experience across Private Markets (Private Equity, Private Debt/Credit, Venture Capital, Infrastructure, Real Estate, etc). You will have managed a small team before.
The Role
- Liquidity Management: Oversight of the management fee, carried interest, and liquidity management of the funds.
- Fund structuring and set up: Responsibility for, and coordination of, the fund set-up process and the onboarding of investors into new products.
- Fund investment and transaction structuring: Providing advice to the deal team, including leading on deal completion and integration into business as usual.
- Reporting: Full responsibility and oversight of the quarterly reporting process, including NAV and financial statement approval.
- Audit: Lead the fund audit process across all funds.
- Service provider coordination: Managing relationships with fund administrators, auditors, bankers, depositaries, and external AIFM, including KPI monitoring.
- Tax and compliance support: Assisting the tax and compliance teams with ongoing filing and compliance requirements.
- Client Operational Due Diligence: Leading on operational aspects of investor due diligence.
- Investor relations: Presenting to large, external institutional investors on core financial and operational aspects.
- Manager Due Diligence: Overseeing operational due diligence on all underlying fund managers, assessing risks, and reporting to the Investment Committee.
- Internal collaboration: Partnering with internal teams to deliver client reporting and due diligence materials.
Requirements
- You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Requisite and recent experience in fund accounting or controlling within Private Markets.
- Solid experience in fund structuring and set-up.
- Ability to work as part of a small, close-knit team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Additional Information
- This role is based in the UK, with a hybrid working model of three days in the office per week.
