Job summary

Catalyst in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Fund Controller to oversee precise reporting of fund performance by asset class, strategy and time bucket, with clear risk attribution for stakeholders.

You will ensure accurate NAV valuations against independent pricing data sources and deliver NAV reports to internal investors and regulators, supporting governance in a fast-paced investment environment from a prestigious city centre office.

Qualifications

• 2:1 degree from a top UK university.
• 1-3 years’ experience in product control or valuations in banking or buy-side.
• Alternatively 1-3 years in an accountancy audit team.
• Knowledge of financial products such as bonds, equities and basic derivatives is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate reporting of the Fund’s performance by asset class, strategy and time bucket with risk attribution.
• Ensure trading portfolio valuations are maintained against independent pricing sources.
• Provide reporting of the Fund’s Net Asset Value to internal investors and regulators.

Fund Controller

Our client, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, is a joint venture between a technology solutions business serving the banking and financial sectors and a global alternative investment fund manager.

Responsibilities

• Delivering accurate reporting of the Fund’s performance to stakeholders, splitting by asset class, strategy, time buckets, risk attribution.
• Ensuring the trading portfolio’s accurate valuation by performing ongoing assessments against independent pricing data sources.
• Providing reporting of the Fund’s Net Asset Value to internal investors and regulators.

Qualifications

• A 2:1 degree from a top 25 UK university.
• 1- years of experience working in a Product Control or Valuations role in an investment bank or buy-side firm.
• Or, 1-3 years’ experience from an accountancy firm in an audit team.
• Some knowledge of financial products such as Bond, Equities, and simple derivatives, is favoured.
• Familiarity with SQL, Python and Tableau is advantageous.
