Job description:

As a Manager, you will leverage your excellent organisational skills, sound judgement, and strong personal character to meet and exceed client requirements. This role will focus on a key client relationship of Alter Domus (Guernsey) Limited (“ADG”), and you will be part of a growing local team that is integrated into our Global team responsible for this relationship. The post holder will report to the Head of Accounting in Guernsey.

For this key relationship, NAV calculations and accounting is undertaken by a centralised team of specialists. Your role will be focussed as the lead for the team on Guernsey matters reviewing and monitoring reporting, supervising their engagement with the client.

Ideally this role will be suitable for an individual with a background in an investment fund accounting team. Experience of working with an outsourcing arrangement and being part of a Global team.

  • Serve as the primary accounting point of contact for your clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and relationship management.
  • Lead the team in Guernsey matters, reviewing and monitoring reporting, and supervising engagement with the client.
  • Participate in the setup of alternative investment funds and other unregulated vehicles, liaising with clients, auditors, independent tax specialists, lawyers, and other third parties.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the financial records on our specialist fund accounting systems, with a focus on implementing and optimising our accounting tech solutions.
  • Oversee the preparation of investment capital accounts, management accounts, regulatory reports and financial statements.
  • Coordinate audits and review related reports as part of the accounting and reporting process.
  • Respond to investor queries requiring financial information, ensuring timelyand accurate communication.
  • Collaborate with the fund administration team to prepare capital call and distribution notices.
  • Participate in board meetings and shareholders' meetings where financial reporting matters are discussed.
  • Act as a key link between management and junior staff, ensuring high-quality work and providing mentorship.
  • Undertaking oversight assessment reviews for outsourced work ensuring compliance with KPIs and SLMs.
  • Act as the key contact for the client in any escalation matters, monitoring performance metrics to ensure they are met.
  • Become a technical expert in our accounting tech solutions, actively participating in their implementation and optimisation with clients.
  • A strong interest in technology and its applications in accounting is essential.

Your profile:

  • A passion for your role and for building successful client and Board relationships through teamwork and high standards of service.
  • Eager to join a growing team, which has already established itself as the 5th largest independent fund administrator in Guernsey by assets under administration.
  • ACCA/ACA or equivalent qualified, with experience of managing a team.
  • 5 to 10 years’ relevant experience in alternative investment fund accounting, audit or fiduciary services.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • A strong interest in technology and its applications in accounting, with a desire to become a technical expert in our accounting solutions.
  • A commitment to delivering high standards of client service, possessing a team spirit, and the capacity to build strong client relationships.
