Job summary

Aztec Group in Southampton is hiring a Fund Accountant to perform day-to-day accounting of fund structures under the guidance of a Financial Reporting Manager. The role combines hands-on bookkeeping with support for investor reporting and statutory statements, in a busy client-focused team benefiting from hybrid working.

You will develop skills toward ACCA Fundamental Skills or ACA Professional levels, with in-house training through the Aztec Academy.

Qualifications

• Currently studying toward ACCA Fundamental Skills or ACA Professional level.
• Strong general knowledge of financial services is expected.
• Good computer literacy and Excel proficiency are essential.

Responsibilities

• Bookkeep funds, management companies and related fund structures.
• Prepare, reconcile and support investor reports and statutory financial statements; handle ad-hoc queries.
• Assist with routine audit queries.
• Prepare periodic bank reconciliations with supporting documentation.
• Maintain Yardi and Excel working papers for bookkeeping tasks.
• Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of direct and indirect tax returns.
• Support induction and training of trainee staff.

If you are passionate, curious, innovative and data driven, you could still be a good fit. **About the role:** The purpose of this position is to carry out routine day-to-day accounting of fund structures under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager. **Key responsibilities:*** Bookkeep funds, management companies and associated fund structures within the team * Assist with all aspects of accounting matters, including the preparation, reconciliation and proofing of investor reports, statutory financial statements, and ad-hoc investor queries * Assist with the completion of routine audit queries * Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and provide supporting documentation evidencing transactions * Maintain accurate records on Yardi and Microsoft Excel working paper schedules for all aspects of bookkeeping * Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of periodic direct and indirect tax returns * Assist and support the induction, integration and training of trainee staff**Skills, knowledge, expertise:*** The candidate will be expected to be studying towards a relevant professional qualification (preferably having commenced ACCA Fundamental Skills level or ACA Professional level) * Some technical financial services knowledge (to be supported through the Aztec Academy)* Computer literacy skills are essentialWe will provide the training, both in house for relevant technical knowledge and also professional qualifications to enhance your professional development.
